ACTIVITIES
The Department is always alive with various programs, seminars and training session to enhance the learning of the students. The faculty keep themselves up-to-date in teaching methods and knowledge by attending Orientation / Refresher courses and workshops. It has also eminently organized (National / International) seminar / conference and workshop, participated and presented several papers in seminars and conferences. To its credit, the Department has several publications in National and International journals.
Microinnovata (Association of Microbiology)

Microbiology Association, “Microinnovata” comprising of the students of Microbiology Department, helps to bring out the potential of students and is aimed at enriching their academic knowledge. “Marvelous march of microbes towards modern era”, “Exploring the significantly small” are the captions given by the students of this association. This forum enables the students to carry out better interactions with eminent scientific personalities in the field through organization of fruitful guest lectures, seminars, competitions etc.

The Microbiology Association (Microinnovata) was started on 7th October 2002

Research activities are pursued in the following areas:

Research in the Department is focused on Molecular Genetics, Industrial Microbiology, Agricultural and Environmental Microbiology, Food Microbiology and Immunology. The development of powerful new genetic and molecular technologies now makes it possible to answer questions in these areas that were previously intractable.
